Cole Whetstone specializes in academic tutoring for History, Philosophy, and the Language Arts, with a particular focus on Ancient Greek and Latin.

Cole has over a decade of experience in education and consulting, guiding students through various stages of their academic journeys. Cole’s expertise spans from college admissions consulting to helping students achieve mastery in ancient languages. His deep knowledge of Classical languages and literature provides a unique perspective, helping students not only learn the languages but also understand the cultural and philosophical contexts behind them.

Cole earned his B.A. in Classics and Philosophy from Harvard University in 2018 and went on to complete an M.St. in Ancient Philosophy at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford in 2020, where he specialized in Aristotle’s Logic. Following this, Cole taught Ancient Greek at Jesus College and Harris Manchester College, Oxford, and co-founded Oxford Latinitas, an academic society dedicated to reviving Latin and Greek in scholarly use. Currently, Cole is pursuing an MPH at NYU, where he is focusing on Aristotelian Bioethics.  

With over a decade of experience in teaching and tutoring, Cole brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his students. During his four years at Harvard, Cole had the pleasure of teaching for and directing Harvard’s Mission Hill After School Program (MHASP), the largest student-run after-school program in New England. He continued teaching throughout graduate school, accumulating thousands of hours of experience working with students of all ages and skill levels. Teaching is Cole’s life’s work, and he strives to make learning both fun and rigorous.

Cole’s dedication and enthusiasm for teaching, combined with his extensive experience, ensure that students not only succeed academically but also gain the confidence and skills they need to excel. He is committed to helping each student reach their full potential, providing the guidance and support necessary to achieve their academic goals and unlock future opportunities. 

When he’s not Teaching, Cole enjoys organizing Philosophy Meetups, Running, and Reciting the Epic Poetry of Homer.
