Category:

Description

Eric specializes in students applying to highly selective schools, arts students, student athletes pursuing the recruitment process, international students, and students interested in a wide range of schools.

Eric is a former Admissions Officer at Columbia University and Assistant Director of Admission at The New School. Eric previously worked as an Associate Director of College Counseling at Brentwood School in west Los Angeles for over eight years and is currently the Director of College Counseling at a Jewish day school in Palo Alto, CA.

Eric was a Division I collegiate rower at the University of Georgia where he earned his undergraduate degree. He was also a Visiting Fellow at The George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management. Currently he is pursuing a master’s degree at Stanford University.

In his time in admissions Eric has reviewed thousands of applications, including those from students applying to BA, BFA, and engineering-specific programs. Eric has reviewed applications from across the US and internationally, including applicants from western Europe, Scandinavia, and as far east as Istanbul. He has extensive experience reviewing arts applications, including visual art and music portfolios.

As a counselor, Eric’s main goal is to help mitigate the anxiety often associated with the college admissions process. He believes that students should drive the process and encourages them to engage in the life of their school and to challenge themselves in order to have the best chance of admission to their top-choice schools. Eric knows that the highly-selective admissions process can be unpredictable, so he’s not afraid to give candid feedback and advice to ensure that students are making the most of their college preparation.

In his spare time, Eric is a professional game show contestant, having appeared on The Price is Right, Celebrity Name Game, and Million Dollar Password. Eric can also be found teaching group exercise classes and participating in social justice organizations across the country.
