Tasha

Description

Tasha is a former International Admission Officer and Territory Manager at the University of Southern California and former Assistant Director of Admissions at Boston University. 

While at Boston University, Tasha traveled all over Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean where her fluency in Spanish gave her an edge when meeting with and counseling prospective students. She was also the staff advisor for BISA, the Board of International Student Ambassadors, a group of international BU students who helped the admissions office engage prospective international students. At the University of Southern California, Tasha continued to work as a territory manager for Latin America and added several more parts of the world to her roster: the Beijing region (including Northern China), Africa, and Oceania.

Tasha graduated with a BA in history from Bowdoin College. While working at BU, Tasha also earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  She became interested in the higher education field while working for the Posse Foundation, a college access and persistence nonprofit organization. She has an MA in Bilingual Journalism with a concentration in Audio Reporting from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.

As a counselor, Tasha is familiar with the intricacies and subtleties of highly selective admissions, and she uses this expertise to help students stand out by fleshing out their particular strengths and unique qualities. Tasha also really enjoys reading and editing applicant essays. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch students mature and improve as writers as she guides them through every step of the process, from the initial brainstorming process to helping them deliver the final polished essay. She encourages students to dig deep and bring out the best of themselves on the page.

Tasha is an avid reader, a creative nonfiction writer, and a language lover — in addition to English and Spanish, she also speaks French! When not nerding out, Tasha can be found exploring New York City and its surroundings on her bike.
